About the MAIO fellowship
The role of a MAIO fellow encompasses three core areas of responsibility: science, engineering, and logistics.
- Science work involves developing olympiad problems for competitions and creating training materials for students
- Engineering work focuses on building and maintaining the digital infrastructure that supports the MAIO programme
- Logistics work encompasses coordination, planning, and outreach to bring each MAIO event to fruition
Fellows are selected through an appointment process, with terms renewed on a half-season basis. The 2026 season is divided into two halves: September 2025 to March 2026, and March 2026 to August 2026. The role demands significant commitment, resourcefulness and autonomy to achieve the objectives of the MAIO programme.
